This is my kinda place! A hole-in-the-wall (meant with the utmost respect) that not only has great food, but a staff that is equally wondeful!

I had the eggs benedict with the spinach and feta cheese (sorry the name on the menu escapes me at the moment). It was one of the best breakfast plates I have ever had. Eggs poached to perfection and hollandaise sauce was perfect. My friend had the omelet and was equally impressed.

This place is a definate must do!

This diner is golden! I came here after a recommendation from a friend and wow I can't believe I've lived nearby for a year and never bothered walking in!

Fair warning, this is very much an old diner. It's very no frills and a little dingy but that's part of Golden Diner's charm. The restaurant is in an underground unit on a quieter stretch of Carlton. It has a lot of seating. The tables near the front are nice because of the natural light from outside but it can get a little dim near the back. For weekend breakfast you might want to go early to avoid the line and get the best seats.

They can get a bit busy, especially in the mornings, so service may be a little slow but the servers are so nice that I can't complain. They're constantly running around with a long list of things to do so just give them a little prompt and they're quick to respond.

The prices are great and portions are huge! The classic breakfast is only $7 and comes with three eggs, choice of meat, home fries, and toast. Quick and simple, perfect for when you're too lazy to cook breakfast at home. The eggs benedicts ($12-14) also come with three eggs which is unheard of in other places. All orders come with a little glass of orange juice which is perfect to zap you out of your morning daze. They also offer inexpensive options for lunch and dinner and have a milkshake machine from the 1950s that is still working!

Protip: They are also on UberEats and do takeout which is amazing for when you want to eat in the comfort of your own home!

Great everyday diner.  Breakfast served all day, free Wi-Fi, wonderful diner coffee, and a personable and attentive wait staff guarantee a return visit from me.  Greek omelette with "brown toast", please.

Anyone who gave this less than 5 stars either does not appreciate amazing diner food or the kind of service that you usually get. It is clear that it is a family run business who have loyal customers, made evident by the owner knowing everyone's names. The food was fast, hot, and delicious; not to mention so responsibly priced!!! This will be our new breakfast spot.

I haven't even tasted the egg sandwich u ordered, but I'm already YELPing Cos I ordered two large orange juice @$3.50 EACH only to see the lady take out a grocery store no name brand box of orange juice (lmfao), I paid $13.00+ for 2 large store brand orange juice, and 1 fried egg sandwich in brown bread.
Again, lmfao, Cos this place got my money Cos I was STARVING and didn't have time to find something else.
